Hi Folks-
Apologies again for the hiatus. We are going to be revamping the blog a bit in the next few weeks and I promise I will be more active as we move forward.
A short observation on a recent announcement we made. Last week, we rolled out a project we have been working on for more than a year.
That project is called WinJournal.
As you can probably surmise, it is a journaling, blogging, and podcasting package for _Windows._
Yes, Windows.
While I suspect we will always be a Mac-dominated company, Mariner needs to try other things...mainly operating systems.
Many of our customers have showed some concern over our long terms plans and future support of our Mac OS
products. I’ll be the first to go on record that we have no plans of abandoning the Mac platform. We live it and breathe it here. But we also have some incredibly talented Windows folks at Mariner and we are excited to see them flourish.
So don’t worry. We have lots more to contribute to the MacHeads of the world. But we also think our friends on the Dark Side could use a little “Marinerizing” too. :-)
Best,
Mike

Too bad WinJournal didn't come out several years ago. I could have made good use of it when I was shackled to a PC. Instead I used an application called Keynote (no relation to Apple's application by the same name). But I'm fortunate enough to have the freedom to use a Mac at my current job, and I use MacJournal quite a bit to store plenty of tidbits of info to easily find at any notice.
While I am not overly worried about Mariner abandoning the Mac, I am curious about the state of Mariner Write and Calc. Neither application has seen much development during the past several years. I did notice the recent advertisement bundle for them, though. New versions coming soon, maybe? And how about a Mariner Draw to further beef up the suite?
Hey Chad-
No need to worry about us EVER abandoning the Mac platform. :-)
Regarding Write and Calc. yes, they are getting a little long in the tooth, aren't they? We agree. We have been slowly working on major revisions for both but with MacJournal, WinJournal, and Montage getting the brunt of the development bandwith, things have been going slower than we are used to. Rest assured, they are not being sunset!
No Mariner Draw in the works. Sorry.
Mike
